Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox, born 25th December 1954, in Aberdeen Scotland. Dorothy Farquharson & Thomas Allison Lennox is the name used by her parents. Lennox studied flute, piano as well as harpsichord at Royal Academy of Music London for three years throughout the 1970s. Her budget was supplemented by a stipend to students and part-time jobs. Lennox decided to change her career path when she was dissatisfied with her inexperience and lack of talent comparison with the other Royal Academy students. Lennox played flute with a group called Dragons Playground in 1976. The group didn't get to compete in the talent contest New Faces on I.T.V. The singer was the primary vocalist of The Tourists a British pop band from 1977 to 1980. That was also where she met Dave Stewart with whom she formed Pop duo Eurythmics. Lennox then began to work on her debut solo album Diva, which was released around 1992. It was an enormous hit as well as selling and critically acclaimed. Nostalgia Lennoxs sixth album by herself was released in October 2014. This C.D. includes a collection of Lennoxs favourite blues and soul songs from her childhood. Also, in May of 2019, Lennox released Lepidoptera an album comprising four tracks improvised by piano. The E.P. The first single from her debut album"Now I'm Letting You Go... It is the soundtrack to her exhibit of art in the Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art. Annie Lennox (born December 25, 1954) is a Scottish musician and political activist. The Tourists were a new-wave group who had some popularity in the latter part of 1970s. Later, Lennox joined fellow musician Dave Stewart to form the pop duo Eurythmics. In 1992 Lennox launched a solo career by releasing their debut record Diva that produced a number of hit songs, such as Why and Walking in Broken Glass. Medusa her 1995 studio album includes cover versions of tracks including No MoreI I Love Yous andA Whiter Shade of Pale. She has released six solo studio albums and compilation albums. |
