Plaza plays April Ludgate, a character in the "Parks and Recreation" series. After doing improv and sketch comedy at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater and making her first web-based series debut with "The Jeannie Tate Show", Plaza went on to play Juddah Apalow's "Funny People" as well as Scott Pilgrim vs. the World later on in her life. Make her day special! Aubrey Christina Plaza was born in Wilmington, Delaware, the daughter of the attorney Bernadette and financial specialist David Plaza. Both her parents are both Irish and are English-speaking. Plaza received a degree from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts as well as a Catholic girls' college, which both took place in 2002. At the time of her high school graduation Plaza served as the president of Wilmington Drama League and a participant in its student body. In 2004, as she was enrolled in her second year of college, Plaza had a stroke, which left her with expressive aphasia, as well as a prolonged period of paralysis. She is now fully healed.
